My mother was an exceptionally good cook. But somehow she never let me in the kitchen and if asked why, she would say that it is not yet my time. In fact, she was a late bloomer and made her first meal only after her marriage and thus strongly believed when the time comes I will be able to manage my way in the kitchen. I shifted cities when I was 25 and finally took an apartment of my own and thus began my experiments in the kitchen and before long I realized that I love cooking. I am the happiest in the kitchen. The sound of the tadka, the aroma of the spices, the play with the colours, the creation of something wonderful is an altogether different kind of happiness. I have always been a foodie and now this has translated to the kitchen as well.
I decided to start this blog basically for two main reasons. One, my friends want me to. They have been asking me for a long time to start sharing my recipes. My laziness came in the way all this while. The other reason is I lose recipes. I make something nice and two weeks after that when I want to make that dish again, I am not sure of how I made it the last time. So, I thought that a blog would be an excellent way to store all my recipes. My recipes come from all across, some are the dishes that I grew up with, some from friends and relatives, some from the internet.
I would also be talking about restaurants, cookery shows and sometimes life in general.
Here's to humble beginnings!
Happy Cooking!
